Second Book in English

May. 7th, 2008 10:32 pmIn some Supernatural fanfic "The Outsiders" by S. E. Hinton is a book Dean or Sam kept close or referred to as something special. So I was curious and got it. I read it as the first English book I've ever read completely and yeah, I cried at the end.
Supernatural: Nevermore
Oct. 29th, 2007 10:51 pmWhen I saw the offer for the original Supernatural novel Nevermore on Amazon I was delighted. I've been trying to convince myself to read a real book in English for a while and thought that was the perfect start.
Now, after the first 9 chapters of it, I've got to leave off some steam about it.

Please share your opinion or tell me I'm wrong or why. Maybe for a native English speaker it feels different?

what's your favorite read besides fanfic? I'm thinking about ordering English books and I'm not sure where to start. I'm not so much into Shakespeare since I hardly understand the German translation. I'm thinking "Catcher in the Rye" maybe or "1984"??
