Okay, side info: car would translate to "der Wagen" which is male. You could also use "das Auto" oder "das Fahrzeug", both a neuter and don't fit with the content. Motorbikes are female, btw, "die Maschine" or "das Motorrad" which would be neuter, again. Funny.

Well, since I know the original voices, have watched the series in English before seeing them in German, I think the voices themselves are horrible chosen. They sound like kids. It's a bit better in the second season but first season was --- hard to get used to.

The translation itself is somewhere between funny, pathetic and too formal. Those lines that make SPN original "...shotgun shuts its cakehole..." just can't be translated. We often don't have the same expressions or phrasings. They usually mess those lead sentences up.

I'm dreading already what they're going to do to "...but you did not shoot the deputy".

I don't know. Sometimes I think they just gave someone the script to translate without letting them watch the show.

It's totally weird to see Sam or Dean address someone their age formally.

The show is cooler in English.

that translates to: "Alright, house rules, Sammy. The driver chooses the music, that means you have nothing to say."

LOL - I guess that's why for some shows, like in anime, it pays to download the version that a fan has translated and added captions to it. Some things just don't translate.

Although, I have to say that the slash in this version literally writes itself. I can see Sammy getting jealous of the poor car now. *giggles*
