Clockwork Orange

I saw Clockwork Orange (Kubrick, 1971) a couple of weeks ago...
I was overwhelmed to say the least. Very intriguing.

If you saw the movie too, would you share some opinions/thoughts/whatever?
Please keep to the movie as I haven't read the book but heard it's quite different from the movie.

And... did anyone else think there was some resemblance to Spike? Head tilt etc?

Now that you mention it, there is a bit of a resembalence between the main character and Spike. Didn't he spin a cane around too?

That movie scared the hell out of me. It traumatized me. It burned itself into my memory so that I never have to watch it again. It was one of the best movies I have ever seen.

For a Spike/Clockwork Orange drabble try this:

Then ask me about CO.

I LOVE Clockwork Orange!
The parallels are quite striking.
Lower class accent.
Cool coats, even if Alex only wore his for one scene.
Attitude for days.
Attitude toward violence is the same, casual.
What did Spike say in "Damage?" In it for the rush and the crunch?
Government control of free will.
And, yes, some head tilts.

I think it's most likely one of Spike's favorite movies. I throw in a CO reference to ultaviolence in my stories when I can.

Any questions/comments about the movie? I'd love to discuss...

God, it been forever since I saw that movie. Still his absolute joy and guilt free destruction and violence certainly feels like Spike. Clee

Haven't seen it, but now I have to go look it up. I'm curious. ~_^

Also, just went through my old comments, and found the one you left for the finale of Cartoon Heroes. First of all: squee! So happy that you enjoyed it. And the word count is 11,025. ~_^ Sorry the info and thanks are a little on the late side...

Happy Holidays, sweetie!
