Hey flist!
Well, I guess you all know I am non-native English speaker and I have questions 'bout some lyrics. It seems I can't wrap my head round them, but I adore them and maybe one of you can tell me what he thinks about it.
Creed Lyrics
One Last Breath Lyrics
Please come now I think I'm falling
I'm holding to all I think is safe
It seems I found the road to nowhere
And I'm trying to escape
I yelled back when I heard thunder
But I'm down to one last breath
And with it let me say
Let me say
Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
That maybe six feet
Ain't so far down
I'm looking down now that it's over
Reflecting on all of my mistakes
I thought I found the road to somewhere
Somewhere in His grace
I cried out heaven save me
But I'm down to one last breath
And with it let me say
Let me say
Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
That maybe six feet
Ain't so far down
Sad eyes follow me
But I still believe there's somthing left for me
So please come stay with me
'Cause I still believe there's something left for you and me
For you and me
For you and me
Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking..
So, don't laugh!
But, is he six feet down or up or away from an edge to jump down and what's about the 'ain't so far down' and yeah well, I am thick sometimes, your interpretations are very welcome.
Oh and by the way, doesn't it just cry for a Spander-fic(let)/drabble?
Thanks to those who may answer. *hugs*

I think, and this is only opinion, that it means this:
'I'm six feet from the edge' meaning six feet away from the edge of, say, the roof of a very tall building. Six more feet and he'll jump and be dead.
And:
'I'm thinking that maybe six feet ain't so far down' means that being dead isn't so bad. It's a 'tradition', or a cliche, that graves are six feet deep. So, when he jumps and dies *presumably* he'll be six feet down *dead and buried* and he's thinking that's okay.
Opinion only, of course, as i've no idea if, uh...Creed sings about suicide.
Any help?
Hope so!

And yes that makes perfectly sense.

They are debating on killing themselves because everything sucks or some junk, and they aren't sure they want to do it because they are: a. calling out for help from god/higherpower/whoever, b. trying to find a reason not to do it, and c. hoping whoever is in a relationship with them can stop it from happening.
Six Feet Under is a term ususally used to describe how far down a gave is dug, but in reality, its a lot shorter than that. 'Six feet from the edge' could mean from the edge of a grave, or from death itself.
Golly, that makes it a rather depressing song. Would make a nice drabbble though.

Thank you very much for the help.
I can't say I am a Creed fan but I like a few of their songs. I don't care so much about the background or the actual persons behind the voices - I am shallow, *shrugs*, so I didn't even know they broke up... LOL
I can't help but feel kinda hopeful when I hear the song. No, I am not in danger to committing suicide. *rolls eyes* Just sounds like whatever comes next - it won't be *so* bad.
