I need help. It's ridiculous but all I can find as a translation is "chick" which seems way more common for "girl".



So how to call these little peep-peeps?

How about "baby chicken" or "bird-let"? "Over-developed egg", maybe? :)

They're called "chicks", though. And people rarely use that word to refer to women now.

Hm... feel all silly now. Guess have to edit the dialogue to make it clearer that Spike's not called a girl but a baby-chicken. *grin*

Um, no, actually. He probably *would* think 'girl' since he was around when that word was more popular. I use 'chick' for girl fairly often, mostly to other...chicks. It's insulting to some, not to others, all depends.

Like, i call my sister a bitch, she calls me one back. Heh.

But yes, he would think 'girl??' and prolly be a bit miffed. Unless he's been in the middle of a magic spell and feels funny and thinks for one horrible moment he's a baby chicken.

Once upon a time he might have, but 'modern' Spike probably wouldn't, no.
